About Us

We are a theatre company that specialises in new writing and pantomime. Our Artistic Director is writer, and actor, Jack Llewellyn who has been working professionally within the Arts since 2005.

Jack trained at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London where he was awarded the Dame Judi Dench Scholarship for Actors with outstanding potential. He also achieved a Masters Degree in Drama following his training at Mountview.

Jack has written and produced many of the major productions performed by It’s An Act which have included Rugby comedies ‘Bred in Heaven‘ and ‘Bred in Heaven – The Road to Twickers‘ directed by the late Olivier award winning director Michael Bogdanov, and also comedy dramas ‘Whose coat is that Jacket‘, and sequels ‘I’ll be there Now in a Minute‘ and ‘The Good the Bad and the Welsh‘.

Other notable successful productions have included the social network comedy ‘Connection Failed‘ which went on a UK tour finishing with a run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, World War One drama ‘Not About Heroes‘, and comedies including ‘Perfect Pitch‘ and ‘April in Paris‘ by John Godber, and ‘Two‘ by Jim Cartwright.

In 2016 we opened into the world of Pantomime, and made our debut at Pontardawe Arts Centre with ‘Jack and the Beanstalk‘. We have been the resident company at the Arts centre since this time, and in 2018 extended our run adding a new venue at Penyrheol Theatre.

We continue to grow our pantomime audience and our Christmas 2022 production of Cinderella was a sales box office record. We now look forward to 2023 when we return to our venues with Jack and the Beanstalk.
